Along with purchasing the Galaxy S24, I signed up for a 5GB/990 yen plan (eSIM) from the cheap SIM IIJmio, but since the amount of data often exceeded 5GB, I decided to use the 7GB/990 yen plan offered by HIS Mobile. We have implemented MNP to plan (SIM).
The plan I signed up for with HIS Mobile is ``Fujizai 290 Plan 7GB (Docomo line) with 5G option''.
In addition, since it is a cheap SIM, the speed may be slightly slower in the evening hours when the line is busy compared to a carrier SIM, but it can be used without any problems for everyday use!

About HIS Mobile
HIS Mobile is a low-cost SIM service provided by H.I.S.Mobile Co., Ltd., a group company of travel agency HIS. The main features are explained in detail below.
[Main features]
1. Diversity of plans
- Flexible Super Plan: Using a Docomo line, the 20GB plan is available for 2,190 yen per month, and the 50GB plan is available for 5,990 yen per month. 5 minutes of unlimited calls are included in the basic price.
- Flexible 290 plan (conventional plan): A plan where you can choose data capacity from 1GB to a maximum of 7GB.The 1GB plan is available from 550 yen per month (290 yen for less than 100MB).
・Freedom 2.0 plan (new plan): Multiple data capacity plans are available from 1GB to 30GB, and the minimum data capacity plan of 1GB starts at 280 yen per month. A 6-minute all-you-can-call option has been added, which is one minute longer than the previous 5-minute all-you-can-call option.
Bitter! Plan: You use a SoftBank line and pay only for what you use, with pricing starting at 198 yen for up to 100MB and 5,775 yen for up to 30GB.
2. Line options
・You can choose between Docomo line and Softbank line to subscribe. This allows you to continue using the device you are currently using.
3. Call options

Setting up HIS Mobile SIM on Galaxy S24
IIJmio's eSIM was installed on the Galaxy S24, but HIS Mobile does not support instant online issuance of eSIMs, so I applied for a SIM card to be issued.
The gallery below is the SIM card and getting started guide that was delivered by mail from HIS Mobile.
Line switching to HIS Mobile
The time it takes to switch to HIS Mobile varies depending on the application time period for switching, as shown below.
- 10:00-20:00: Completed within 1 hour of application
- 20:00-00:00: Completed by around 11:00 the next day
- 00:00-10:00: Completed by around 11:00 on the day
Once line switching is complete, you will receive a "MNP line switching completion notification" email from HIS Mobile. This email will indicate the date the line switch was completed as the start date.
Additionally, if you sign up for a voice call plan at a HIS Mobile store, you can start using it the same day. However, the data SIM contract takes the same number of days as the online procedure.
To switch your line to HIS Mobile, access the membership site from the HIS Mobile website or HIS Mobile app. Once the line switching is complete, an email will be sent to the email address you registered as a member, so you can continue setting up your SIM card.
SIM card settings
In this example, we will insert the HIS Mobile SIM card into Android (Galaxy S24) and configure the SIM card.

APN settings
SIMカードの設定に引き続き、以下のギャラリーの手順に沿って、［設定>接続>モバイルネットワーク］にてAPN設定を行います。
Since I canceled IIJmio's contract with MNP this time, I will disable IIJmio's eSIM after completing the APN settings for HIS Mobile. You can check the operation of APN settings by turning off Wi-Fi.
5G communication
As shown below, you will be able to use 5G communication by applying for the 5G option (free of charge) within the HIS mobile app.
