On the last Saturday of Golden Week, I visited the American bar "OLD BOY" in Hiratsuka during the late night hours. Old Boy is a unique bar with the concept of American culture from the 1970s.
When I was operating a Labyrinth in Hiratsuka, I would go out to visit frequently, but it was my first visit in a long time.

About Hiratsuka's bar "OLD BOY"
"OLD BOY" is a bar located about a 10-minute walk from the west exit of Hiratsuka Station, and is a unique space based on the concept of American culture from the 1970s.
The bar also offers dry food and snacks, as the sign says "- DINER AND BAR-" in addition to alcohol.
Opened 19 years ago by a master who loves motorcycles and surfing, the bar is decorated with vintage items and American miniature cars, giving it a feel like you've travelled back in time.
The restaurant has 10 seats, with only counter seats, and is characterized by the fact that you can enjoy alcohol in a calm space. The music lovers' masters play blues, jazz and rock and roll from the 1960s to 1970s, creating a cinematic worldview.
Previously, the sign cat "Monjiro" was kept in the shop, but unfortunately, he has now been invited to heaven.
Last year, Master Taku also collapsed from illness and closed the store for a while, but it's great that he managed to return and reopened the store. I hope that you will continue to liven up and continue to visit the store in the future.

Inside the store
The interior of the store is decorated reminiscent of America in the 1970s. The master of the carboy hat will welcome you through the counter. The monitors always show films set in the United States.
I noticed the DVD "Paris, Texas," casually leaning against the bottle shelf at the end of the counter, and this movie is a road movie starring Nastasha Kinski, which was performed in 1984.
The store is decorated everywhere with the master's hobby of motorcycles and American mini cars, making it a very unique space. Previously, the actual Harley Davidson was on display on the right side of the store, but now it has been replaced by a KAWASAKI bike.
About alcohol
We have everything from Western-style liquors, including bourbon and scotch whiskey. Various cocktails can also be ordered in shots.
I ordered a Malibu orange cocktail. A snack (bitter chocolate + dry) comes with a drink.
The shop features a unique, American space that reflects the master's hobbies and has a relaxed atmosphere. The master is a unique person from North Sea, but he has a good personality and always has a kind accountant.
So here you can enjoy the American atmosphere, fun conversations with the master, and background music, and enjoy the drink without worrying about time.
