After taking a walk around the beach at Shonan Perumare Hiratsuka Beach Park in Takahamadai, Hiratsuka City, I visited the pet shop at Ark Square Shonan Hiratsuka, a large shopping mall that will open in October 2024.
Both tours are done by bicycle from home. The visit date and time will be around 16:00 on November 25, 2024.
The apartment I live in is a 20 minute walk from the beach to the beach, but since I haven't been to the beach yet this year, I decided to go out for the last time this year.
Head to Shonan Bellmare Hiratsuka Beach Park
To get to Shonan Bellmare Hiratsuka Beach Park, go straight south along Hiratsuka Nagisa Promenade from the south exit of Hiratsuka Station and walk for about 20 minutes, but this time we headed there by bicycle.
From the south exit of Hiratsuka Station, pass by Taro Kono's residence and go straight south, and you will see the Takahamadai pedestrian bridge, which will lead you to the entrance to the beach park if you cross it on foot. Usually, bicycles are parked at the bicycle parking lot of Shonan Kaigan Park, which is on the left.
In addition, there seems to be a slope on the left side of the Takahamadai pedestrian bridge that you can cross on a bicycle. In that case, park your bike at the bicycle parking lot inside the boardwalk at Hiratsuka Beach Park.
Visit to Shonan Bellmare Hiratsuka Beach Park
Shonan Bellmare Hiratsuka Beach Park is an artificial beach located in Hiratsuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture, and is fully equipped with facilities for enjoying sea bathing and leisure activities.

The beach park is crowded with people, especially during the summer tourist season. Events such as beach surfing, bikini bucket races, and beach volleyball may also be held. There are also parks and hiking trails rich in nature near the beach park.
There is a boardwalk near the entrance of Shonan Hiratsuka Beach Park.
This boardwalk is known as a place where you can enjoy the beautiful ocean, sandy beach, and sunset scenery while strolling through the beach park. You can spend some relaxing time walking along the boardwalk.
The "University of Tokyo Hiratsuka-oki Comprehensive Experiment Tower" photographed in the above gallery is officially called "The University of Tokyo Ocean Alliance Hiratsuka-Oki Comprehensive Experiment Tower (commonly known as Hiratsuka-Oki Wave Observation Tower Light)" and is located off the coast of Hiratsuka in Sagami Bay. This is an observation facility installed in a sea area of 1 km and 20 m deep. This tower is primarily intended for observing waves and the marine environment, and is operated by the Marine Research Institute of the University of Tokyo.
The tower monitors ocean movements in real time and collects data for research and education purposes. It also functions as a lighthouse, helping ships navigate.

After leaving Shonan Bellmare Hiratsuka Beach Park, I headed to Ark Square Shonan Hiratsuka Store, a new comprehensive lifestyle shopping square built on the site of the former JT Hiratsuka Factory on Friday, October 25, 2024.
