While I was strolling through some delicious-looking Korean restaurants in Shin-Okubo, I happened to come across a restaurant called "Kinbuta kamabuta asamugyopsal".

The day I visited was last Sunday, so all the stores near the station were crowded and you couldn't get in unless you made a reservation in advance, so it seemed better to go somewhere a little further away from the station. I also found a store.

This shop is close to Higashi-Shinjuku Station and a 10-minute walk from Shin-Okubo Station.

"Kinbuta kamabuta Samgyeopsal'' uses pork from Kagoshima that is slowly grilled over charcoal to create a dish with a perfect balance of aroma and flavor. The straw added to the smoke adds even more aroma, and when you put it in your mouth, the flavor of the meat gradually spreads. In addition to Sanmaiku, you can also enjoy skirt steak, so it is a must-have dish for meat lovers.

We also have a wide selection of Korean dishes such as budae jjigae and bokgeumbap to whet your appetite. I think it's a good idea to make a reservation before your visit, as there are a lot of people making reservations.

The store information for Golden Pork Pot Samgyeopsal is as follows:

The route from Shin-Okubo Station was to head towards Kabukicho from Ikemen-dori, turn left at the T-junction near the cosmetics store ``Skinholic,'' and there was "Kinbuta Kamabutra Samgyeopsal'' along the street.
As you can see in the gallery above, the entrance is a little hidden, so if you're not careful you might pass by.

Inside the store

It was crowded, probably because it was dinner time around 6pm, but we managed to get in with two free people.
A nice octopus was swimming in an aquarium near the entrance. I know it’s late, but I probably should have ordered this too 🤦‍♀️

There is a lot of graffiti on the white walls inside the store. Judging from the content, it seems like a lot of K-POP fans are visiting. The walls are a bit sketchy, but everything else is clean and beautiful.
This shop was featured on Nippon Television's lunchtime information program "Hirunandesu", and there was also a Chocolate Planet sign posted.

In addition, when you tilt the backrest of the black chair provided, the top lid opens and you can store your luggage inside the chair.

For food, we ordered Nungkomossal (2 servings), Kimchi Jjigae, and Seafood Chijimi.
"Nungkomossal" is a Korean barbecue dish that refers to the part around the neck of a pig. It is written as "목살" in Korean, where "목" means neck and "살" means meat.
This part has less fat, is muscular, and has an oval shape, and is located close to what is called the "shoulder loin" in Japan. Nunkommossal is served at particularly popular Yakiniku restaurants, and its deliciousness is loved by many people.

When I ordered the neungkomotsal, I also received a samgyeopsal set. The sauce for the meat is wasabi, salt and pepper, salted fish, gochujang, etc. The staff carefully prepares the food with a cover (pot) placed around the iron plate to prevent oil from scattering.
According to the staff, it is recommended to season the meat with salt and pepper first. It's definitely a good piece of meat, so it was delicious enough without adding any extra sauce or anything.

The meat was thick and soft to the touch, making it very high quality and delicious.
Kimchi jjigae is served in a piping hot stone grilled jjigae pot. It was spicy and very delicious.
The seafood pancake contains plenty of seafood such as squid and has a fluffy texture. This was also very delicious.

All drinks ordered are 600 yen.
I ordered draft beer (1), ginger highball (1), and lemon sour (3), and the bill, including food, was 9,710 yen, so it was a relatively gentle bill 😊
