The 32nd Tokyo Mineral Show 2023 was held at the Sunshine City Cultural Hall in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, and this year I invited a friend to come and watch it.
The Tokyo Mineral Show is Japan's largest festival of minerals, fossils, meteorites, gemstones, and natural stone accessories.
Fossil and mineral dealers gather from all over Japan and all over the world, including Asia, America, South America, and Europe, and sell approximately 1 million items, including fossil specimens, crystalline minerals, meteorites, gemstones, rough gemstones, and natural stone accessories. This year, the 32nd Tokyo Mineral Show, is the largest ever with more than 500 exhibitors.
Tour of the first venue
We toured from the 1st venue on the 2nd floor of the Sunshine City Cultural Center building. Below is a gallery of each booth.
The huge rose quartz rough stone and the large Herkimer diamond rough stone are spectacular, and the prices are beyond the reach of ordinary people. For now, I just watched it and it was a feast for the eyes.
By the way, this year I only had a quick look, so I didn't find many bargain booths. At most, it's probably his 1,000 yen bracelet in the gallery.
Tour of the second venue
The second venue is on the 3rd floor of the Sunshine City Cultural Center Building. Here, the charm corner of gemstones (Vol.2: Real and Fake), fossils (ancient rhinoceros/diaceratherium), geode cracking, minerals, gemstones, jewelry, etc. are exhibited. A detailed article about "Vol.2 Real and Fake" is included in the guidebook handed to you when you enter the museum.
Regarding Larimar, which I have been interested in for a while, I have some rough and loose pieces, but I don't have a bracelet, so I would like to buy one someday. However, high-quality Larimar is very expensive, so I don't have the courage to buy it.
Tour of the third venue
The third venue is on the 4th floor of the Sunshine City Cultural Center Building. This venue features booths for the Daifuku Hiki Tournament and exhibits of minerals, minerals, gemstones, and jewelry.
I left the venue with just a quick lucky draw. Of course, the result of the lottery was a loss 😓
I go to the "Tokyo Mineral Show" every year, and as a jewelry collector, I have been collecting minerals and gemstones (loose) for about 20 years since 2004, and when it comes to gemstones and precious stones, I have collected most types of stones. (See linked site below).
Therefore, I think I'll take a break from collecting for the time being 🙇♀️
